Located in Amery, Wisconsin
Resumes of Photo Club Members

We met at the Northern Lakes Center For The Arts in Amery, Wisconsin
Tuesday - September 19, 2006
Notes from Digital Photography Forum
We had an informative and lively discussion at our Digital Photography Forum on Tueday, September 19th. Thanks to everyone that participated and a special thanks to Edna, John and Rene for supplying the treats. Sorry I didn't get an email out to clarify the date and time, I understand some people showed up on Monday evening. Again - Sorry about that.

We decided that we will have a field trip on Saturday, September 30th. We are meeting at Waynes Cafˇ on Highway 8 at 5:30 am. Yes that is in the morning. We will be driving up to Crex Meadows/Fish Lake/Amsterdam Flowage area. With a little luck, we will see and photograph the sunrise, birds and wildlife and fall color. Bring your cameras and jackets and lets have a little fun. We will probably make a morning of it and maybe into the afternoon if people are still interested in shooting more.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Earl

The minutes for the July 2006 Photo Club Meeting are as follows:

Members Present: Sandy Mabry, Earl Duckett, Jerry Boucher, John Jenkins, Edna Bjorkman, Jo Leir, Sharon Pass, Rene Pelletier, Jessica & Julie Heiden, Monica Dailey

Treasurers report: Jo Leir reported that the club has $447.00 in the checking account. She collected $30.00 at the meeting for a total of $477.00.

Project 18: We moved this project to the October meeting date. Members can take photo's that represent each of the subjects. Photo's can be digital or film. The only restriction is that photo's can't be digitally altered. The list of subjects is as follows:

1. Water
2. Texture
3. Power
4. Weather
5. Road Construction
6. Old Buildings
7. Reflections
8. Animals
9. Color
10. Fire
11. Broken
12. Mood
13. Ice
14. New
15. Transportation
16. People (Young/Old)
17. Fog
18. Flavor

If you haven't started this yet, which seems to be the majority of us, it's time to get going. New members - You are not very far behind the rest of us.

In October, we will look at all the photo's and pick the best photo's for a possible show. Let's get behind this and see what we can do.

2. Fall Festival. We discussed the possibility of each photo club member making available some pieces that could be used for a show at the Fall Festival. We would need between 30 and 35 photo's depending on there size. Photo's should be matted and framed. We also discussed the possibility of using the Gaza project photo's that are already at the art center. These would have to be displayed without frames. I discussed this after the meeting with LaMoine and last week with Mary Ellen. It was Mary Ellen's preference that the Gaza photo's should be saved for a time when they are finally sent overseas. We can then have a major event centered around the project.

That leaves us with using photo's that we have. Every member that has a few framed pieces that they would like to display at the fall festival should have the pieces available at the Northern Lakes Center for the Arts by September 4th. If you have a few pieces, bring them to the meeting on Monday. I'm not sure how many photos per member. We can discuss that at the meeting on Monday. If you need frames made for your photos, I'll be glad to do a few, but you have to let me know soon, as my schedule continues to be pretty tight. Bring up to 5 and we will take a count at the meeting.

3. Digital Photography Round Table Discussion. We decided that we could do this in lieu of a September meeting and make it available to the public. That would make the round table on Monday September 18, 2006. We need to firm this up on Monday night so that we can notify the public and also Mary Ellen for scheduling the Art Center. We discuss having several prepared topics as a way to get started and then let the public ask questions. Round table should be structured to appeal to all groups from beginner to medium-advanced.

4. June show at the Chateau. We discussed developing a Introductory piece for the Photo Club to be used whenever the Photo Club has a show. It would also be nice to have Bio's for each photographer. John said that if we would send him our bio's and a few photo's, he would put them on his website - www.osceolawis.com Bio's and photo's can be sent to John at "jenkinsj@osceolawis.com"

5. Meeting times: We decided to change our meeting times to the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting will be Monday, August 21st, at 7:00 p.m.

6. Photography Forum at The Space in New Richmond every 3rd Wednesday. Open to the public for anyone interested.

7. For our Photo Critique next meeting. John suggested that we bring our photo's on a disc. He will bring his computer and projector and the group can view/critique the photo's as a group instead of passing them around.

8. Bring your ideas for a field trip to the next meeting on Monday August 21st. We discussed planning a field trip for the September meeting.

Meeting adjourned.

The agenda for the August 21st meeting will be as follows:

1. Project 18 - Any questions???

2. Fall Festival - Show at the Art Center.

3. Fall Festival - Digital Forum???????????

4. Photography Forum at the Space - New Richmond.

5. Spetember Meeting - Should we do a field trip - Bring your ideas to the meeting.

6. Photo Critique - Bring your photos on a cd. John will have a projector available to project on the wall.

7. Any other topics that you wish to discuss.

Hope to see you all there.
Earl
